"Deep in the Heart of Tex-Mex"

Chuy's was founded back in 1982 by Mike Young and John Zapp. They had a vision of a fun and funky Tex-Mex restaurant that would serve authentic and fresh food in an atmosphere that appeals to everyone.

When they started decorating the restaurant they made some interesting decisions due to the lack of money and creativity of their "designer." Their Chuy's touches like the hand-carved wooden fish "swimming" from the ceiling, hubcaps hanging bright and shiny above your booth and the Elvis shrine started with Mike and John who are still alive today! Today they still like the keep a few of these original eclectic touches in each of their restaurants.

Their menu is made up of a combination of flavors with recipes and ingredients from across New Mexico, Mexican border towns, the Rio Grande Valley, deep South Texas, Austin and beyond!
Mike and John wanted to bring FRESH to Tex-Mex and that's exactly what they did!

What makes Chuy's different is that they hand make fresh tortillas daily in each restaurant and that everything is fresh, never frozen!

Chuy's would make for the perfect Mexican Date Night with your spouse!

Relationship Tip: on this date ask your spouse ask each other fun questions like "what's something you never confessed to your parents until much later-that you laugh about now? "What song from the radio did you just HATE when you were in your early teens?" Asking each other fun questions such as these will get you two talking and laughing and you might learn something new about each other.
