I am sure we all have memories of eating a homemade Grilled Cheese sandwich.  For me, my mom would place thick slices of American cheese on two pieces of Potato bread, swabbed in butter and cook on the griddle until it was a crunchy piece of golden, Grilled Cheese Heaven.  Biting into it filled my mouth with a buttery, cheesy, toasty delight!  On your next date share some of your favorite memories of home cooked meals with your spouse!  Talk about what some of your home cooked meals are now, as a married couple.  Have your taste preferences changed or are you still hung up on mom's cook'n?

4th of July Fun

If you and your spouse don’t have any plans for 4th of July, look no further! There are tons of activities that are happening in and around Dallas to celebrate the 4th.

If you two are located in Dallas, you have a couple of options for the 4th of July!

Fair Park Fourth

Fair Park will be open at noon with games, rides, live music, and food booths. They will also have fireworks at 9:45 pm in the Cotton Bowl Stadium. Parking is $10. Here is where it is located.

Dallas Heritage Village has their own Old Fashioned Fourth. They have games like horseshoes and mini checkers. They also have musical performances as well! They start at 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Here are where they are located.

If you are more towards Irving, there are also few options that you two can choose as well!

Irving will be celebrating a parade through the Irving Heritage District. They will have floats, businesses, and fun! Live music, watermelon, and fireworks will be there too! The parade begins at 9:00 am and an party after until 12:00 pm. From 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm they will have more food and fireworks. The morning event will be located here. And the location for the evening event and fireworks are here.

Another place you can watch fireworks at is Lake Carolyn. You can head there with your spouse to watch some fireworks, for free! It starts at 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The directions are here.

Lone Star Park

There is an Annual Lone Stars and Stripes Fireworks Celebration that is going on near Irving as well. This event will have music and a chance to win a mustang! Just arrive before 7:25 pm! They also have races all day long, so after the last one, the fireworks will go on. It starts at 3:00 pm. You can get there here. It is $5 to get in and $20 to park.

So if you’re in the Fort Worth area, here is one place that you can go to without traveling too far. Of course you can go up to Irving for more options.

Panther Island Pavilion

Panther Island Pavilion’s celebration will start at 2:00 pm with live music all day, fireworks at 10:00 pm. You will be also be able to go tubing too! You can see their schedule here. They are located here.

Relationship Tip! Spend the day with your spouse. Enjoy the food, contests, music, and fun! But be sure you not only see the fireworks, but feel them while with your spouse!

Check out these reviews on Tripadvisor

"This place is awesome. The staff is very friendly and takes good care of their thrill seekers. I chose to do the free fall and the bungee jump, both of which were amazing. They were both terrifying but I felt so alive afterwards. I would do the free fall a million more times but probably not the bungee jump. I really enjoyed my visit and I will be back."

"What a rush! Next time I'll do all the attractions/rides (what is the correct word?) . Which means I'll have to lose about 10 lbs because at 240 lbs I'm at exactly the weight limit for 2 of the attractions, and that makes an already nervous me super nervous!
A huge thumbs up for the staff. What bunch of fun guys (and the gal in the 'office'). They were professional, knew the drill, made sure we understood the procedures and did it all with a great sense of humour and enjoyment.
On the video one funny guy can even be heard singing "I believe I can fly", lol. Not saying that a recording career is out of the question, but I wouldn't suggest that he quit Zero Gravity just yet. ;-)"

"We had a great time riding the rides at the park. There was a bit of a wait, seemed like there weren't enough employees around to be at all the stations. But the staff was fun and nice."

Relationship Tip: this is a great date to seek some thrill. Your spouse might get scared but make sure to hold their hand and tell them and they can do it!

Adair's Saloon

Screen Shot 2017-05-15 at 4.05.18 PM.png

Come one and all to one of Dallas’ oldest bars and enjoy a fun evening filled with good food, music and drinks. Adair’s Saloon is full of history and tradition and would be the perfect place to go on a date night with your sweetheart.

Screen Shot 2017-05-15 at 4.07.36 PM.png

Adair’s Saloon first opened in 1963 by S.L. and Ann Adair. It quickly became a hot spot for local students who enjoyed “leaving their mark” on the walls. Ann’s burgers were made to satisfy S.L.’s big appetite and quickly became famous. The ownership of Adair’s was then passed to Lois and R.L. Adair in 1977. In 1982, they sold the building and re-opened Adair’s in a new location in 1983. At the re-opening, Lois passed out markers so the customers could leave their mark, thereby beginning the traditions of Adair’s anew!

Today, Adair’s remains home to the original jukebox, but the old has been mixed with the new as well with some progressive additions put in place by Lois that enhance the beloved traditions. Adair’s remains a memorable place to enjoy a delicious meal. They even provide live music 7 nights a week!

Screen Shot 2017-05-15 at 4.09.43 PM.png

Adair’s has had many great artists grace their stage, such as Jack Ingram, Deryl Dodd, and members of the Dixie Chicks. So come to Adair’s and enjoy a fun date night with your significant other!

Check out their menu here and their live music schedule here.

Dinner and a free show? Sounds like the perfect date night to me!

Check here for raving Yelp reviews of Adair's. And check here to see Adair's rated #4 in Top Country Bars in Dallas on Yelp.

Relationship Tip: Have a weekly date night no matter what. Having that time set aside for each other  is extremely important. Plus it’s a great excuse to get dressed up and have a fun night out together to rekindle that love!
