If you and your spouse are looking to get away from
the city vibe than you should head over to White Rock Lake. This spot offers
great scenery, a long walk around the lake, and places to picnic. It’s a
perfect place to escape the city, without going too far at all.
There are many things that you two can do at White Rock Lake, however swimming is
not allowed. You can fish, canoe, kayak, run or walk the trail, have a picnic,
and more instead!
Also, it is said that if you head over to the Old Fish
Hatchery you might be able see different animals, trees, and flowers. Make sure
to look up to spot some unique birds in the area too!

There is a 9 mile trail around the lake that you and your spouse can walk or bike around. After that you can have a picnic at one of their many spots and enjoy the views. Maybe even try heading there in the evening and share the sunset with your favorite person.
White Rock Paddle Co. |
If that’s not enough, you can go to White Rock Paddle Co. and
rent some single or tandem kayaks, or stand up paddle boards! Go out and explore
on the lake with your spouse, but beware of the snakes and spiders! If you are
interested in renting, you can see their rates here.
White Rock Paddle Co.
will take care of all of your needs.
There are boat docks for your convenience if you have
your own canoes, kayaks, or paddle boards! Take yours out, or rent, and make
sure you bring your fishing poles to hopefully catch a few fish for dinner! (Be
sure to bring your fishing license along with you!)
White Rock Lake is open daily from 6 am to midnight.
You can find directions to it here.

Here are some things that people have said about White
Rock Lake on Trip
Advisor:
“This is a gorgeous lake! Kayaking,
canoeing..no swimming! Again, this is not a swimming lake! Its a peaceful,
quiet lake. :-)”
“What a great park! I spent about an hour
walking around, to kill some time during a business trip. It was beautiful! The
pathways are very clean, the view of the lake and houses surrounding it are so
beautiful. Lots of spots to stop and sit/rest and enjoy the scenery.”
Relationship Tip! Hold hands while walking around the lake! Make a friendly bet about who sees the most animals or catches the most fish! Splash one another with your paddles! Make your outing about the two of you.
